The Gay Beach at Koh Phangan

Located on the left of Secret Beach (Hadson Beach) on the West side of the island, this secluded little bay attracts a small young gay crowd, especially on weekends. The next little beach alcove is a much loved nudist spot & if you’re thirsty the nearby beach bar on Secret Beach ensures no one runs dry.

The gay scene on Phangan is fast-growing, albeit from a very small scale. There’s a small gay beach and a healthy mix of gay-owned & gay-friendly bars, resorts and bungalows.

Getting to Koh Phangan

Koh Phangan is accessible only by ferry with numerous carrier options available. A fast ferry takes you shore to shore in 30 minutes, with the longer ferry taking 50 minutes. Part of the fun island experience of getting around is hiring a scooter or making use of the open-sided taxi services.

Thong Sala is the main town with everything from gay owned/friendly restaurants & bars, gay resorts & even a small gay beach, within easy distance. Party goers tend to stay near Haad Rin where all the parties take place. Thong Nai Pan is the most upmarket area that offers some of Koh Phangan’s most luxurious resorts.
